Our Story
OS33 is the predecessor company to Venn. From 2010-2019, OS33 was the leading secure workspace solution for Registered Investments Advisors (RIAs), Broker-Dealers with independent reps, and other security and compliance-driven companies and their Managed Service Providers (MSPs). OS33’s turnkey platform served tens of thousands of users, enabling anywhere-productivity without compromising security and compliance.
By 2018, the company recognized its need to evolve in order to better support a widening array of customers looking to secure distributed workforces at scale. Software-as-a-Service adoption was advancing rapidly. Regulatory requirements were more extensive than ever, and new cybersecurity threats and challenges were emerging every day. It was clear that virtual desktops and similar remotely-hosted solutions would be challenged by this emerging new reality, and that is what inspired the beginning of Venn.
Introducing Venn
Building on over a decade of trust and technological innovation, in 2019, OS33 raised funding towards creating and launching Venn, as a new company, with an entirely new software-based approach to securing remote work. Venn continues to support its longtime OS33 customers.
Today, Venn is the first purpose-built technology for Secure BYO-PC. Venn secures remote work on any unmanaged or BYOD computer with a radically simplified and less costly solution than virtual desktops or having to lock down every PC. Similar to an MDM solution but for laptops – work lives in a company-controlled secure enclave installed on the user’s PC or Mac, where business activity is isolated and protected from any personal use on the same computer. Over 700 organizations, including Fidelity, Guardian, and Voya, trust Venn to meet FINRA, SEC, NAIC, and SOC 2 standards.

Leadership Team
David Matalon
Chief Executive Officer & Founder
David is the CEO and Founder of Venn, the first purpose-built patented technology for Secure BYO-PC. Venn secures remote work on any unmanaged or BYOD computer with a radically simplified and less costly solution than virtual desktops or having to lock down every PC. At Venn, he leads an organization whose culture is built on the idea of work+life and helping people thrive, to be at their best every day in both work and life. Prior to Venn, Matalon led OS33 (2010-2019), the leading secure workspace solution for Registered Investments Advisors (RIAs), Broker-Dealers and other security and compliance-driven companies. Matalon has spent his career focused on technology solutions that enable organizations to empower their people to enjoy more freedom and flexibility without compromising organizational security and compliance. Freedom without compromise. David’s interest in technology and propensity for entrepreneurship took root at a young age. He started his first business when he was 13 years-old, teaching family and neighbors how to use Microsoft Word and Intuit. Immediately after graduating from college in 2000, he started Offyx, one of the first Application Service Providers, backed by Oppenheimer, IBM and Cisco, which seeded his successful career in cloud computing. A native New Yorker, David earned his undergraduate degree from NYU’s Stern School of Business and has a Master’s Degree from Columbia University. He and his wife are raising their four children in their hometown of Great Neck.
Alex Osipov
Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder
Alex Osipov is the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Venn. He has led software development, technical operations and cybersecurity efforts at Venn for more than a decade. He is intimately involved in product and platform delivery. Alex graduated from Stony Brook University, lives in NYC with his wife and two children, and spends his free time pondering the future of cybersecurity and reading biographies.
Heather Howland
SVP, Marketing
Heather Howland is SVP of Marketing at Venn. She is responsible for championing the Venn brand, building awareness, and accelerating growth. She has 20+ years of marketing experience and is passionate about bringing new technologies to market. She has held various marketing leadership roles at Cyral, Preempt (acquired by Crowdstrike), Lacoon Mobile Security (acquired by Check Point), and Q1 Labs (acquired by IBM). Heather was named a 2022 Stevie Award Winner for “Marketing Executive of the Year” in the American Business Awards. She lives in Sausalito, CA with her family.
Dvir Shapira
Chief Product Officer
Dvir is an experienced product management leader with a track record of scaling products from inception to market success. Dvir has seen accelerated growth in previous roles and at Incapsula and Imperva he has built the world’s first Cloud WAF and managed to quickly grow the business from zero to hundreds of millions in under ten years. Dvir earned his undergraduate degrees in physics and electrical engineering and also his MBA at Tel Aviv University. He is the first Vennetian hired in CA, where he lives with his wife and three children.
Jacob Kazakevich
Head of Service Delivery & Co-Founder
Jacob Kazakevich is a Co-Founder, serves as the Head of Service Delivery and is myopically focused on development and delivery of cybersecurity products to protect digital assets across the financial services industry. Jacob graduated from the NYU’s Stern School of Business. He immigrated to the US in the early 90s and now lives with his wife and three daughters in Manalapan, NJ.
